British public vote Gary Barlow Celebrity Dad of the Year

Defeating the likes of noted musician Peter Andre, soccer star David Beckham and rapper Jay-Z, Take That singer Gary Barlow, a father of three, won the title of Celebrity Dad of the Year last night. The British singer, who is raising Daniel, 11, Emily, 9, and Daisy, 3, with wife Dawn and expecting his fourth child, is very excited to get the Premier Inn Celebrity Dad of the Year title, which is awarded by public voting to the celebrity who balances a hectic public life with the demands of parenting most skillfully. He said, It felt amazing. I've been waiting for it for a long time. My kids are really excited and I don't think they can quite believe it. Being a dad is a really important part of my life and it means a lot to have won this award.'' Sharing this news with his fans on Twitter, he wrote, ''Ladies, gentlemen, lads, lassies and Peter Andre, I'm proud to tell you all that I've won 'Celebrity Dad of the year 2012' #GbArmyyourock''. Taking a dig at Peter, last year's winner, in the run-up to the announcement earlier this month the 41-year-old X Factor judge said him to ''stand aside''.
