    The European Film Academy has made an announcement that the internationally popular French actress Catherine Deneuve will be honoured for her immense contribution to the world of cinema with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

    The 69-year-old French beauty has done every possible kind of role throughout her career. From a capitalist housewife turned prostitute to a bisexual vampire, she has always excelled in whatever she does. She has worked with some of the most acclaimed filmmakers till date like Luis Bunuel in Belle de Jour and Tristana, Roman Polanski in Repulsion, Jacques Demy in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Jean-Pierre Melville in Un Flic, Francois Truffaut in The Last Metro, Andre TechineinMa Maison Preferee and Les Voleurs and Arnaud Desplechin in A Christmas Tale, to mention quite a few. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Indochine and she also won Cesar Awards for the same film along with The Last Metro. She has worked in more than 100 films so far. Deneuvealong with director and fellow honouree Pedro Almodovar will be the guests of honour at theEuropean Film Awards which is scheduled to take place on December 7 in Berlin.
