Channing Tatum, the lead face of X-Men: Apocalypse

The 22 Jump Street fame actorChanning Tatum will fit into the shoes of Taylor Kitsch for a lead role in X-Men spinoff. The news was confirmed by the producer Lauren Shuler Donner of the project, who commented that Tatum would essay the character of Gambit in the film. Donner commented about Tatum, "Well you know, he's a rogue -- Channing -- he's a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau, and he can handle the action, we all know that! And he's got a really good heart."

She further stated, "He'll be great for Gambit and he's a Southerner, too! He's not from New Orleans, but he is a Southerner, and he understands that world.” The Bryan Singer directorial will be released on May 27, 2016. James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence are already on board to play important characters. Michael Dougherty, Dan Harris and Simon Kinberg will pen down the script of the venture produced by Simon Kinberg, along with Donner.
