Comic Con began as a small event in San Diego in 1970 with around 300 attendees. Now it has become an annual event with a viewership of over 100,000. There have been talks that the convention might move to Los Angeles but according to officials, Comic Con will stay put in San Diego through 2018.

David Glanzer, who is the spokesperson for Comic Con stated that he was happy with the convention staying in San Diego. It has become an event where the Hollywood film studios make their announcements regarding sci-fi and superhero franchises. The convention has grossed around $136 million for the regional community.

The city of Los Angeles need not be disappointed as WonderCon 2016 will be held at Los Angeles Convention Center. WonderCon is smaller sister event to Comic Con. San Diego Comic Con will commence on July 8 with a preview night. It will go on till July 12.
