Though the London Olympics opening ceremony will take place tonight, the Games director Danny Boyle is already convinced of its success and has also begun celebrations. The Slumdog Millionaire director feels that he has already achieved his main goal of bringing everybody together during a time of economic turmoil. He said, "I believe it's a success already because I believe the way that it's mobilised people together... (during) a tough time in Britain, and Europe, and the world (is a major accomplishment)." The Oscar winner filmmaker however admitted that he is a little nervous. "Nothing can prepare you for the scale...There is always that possibility (that it could bomb) and that's OK because that's part of the process. The truth is, you usually end up down the middle somewhere," he added.
