Hollywood director David Fincher, who has worked in some outstanding thriller films like 'Se7en', 'Fight Club', 'The Social Network' and 'Gone Girl', said that he is not at all interested to direct 'Star Wars' movies. The director was supposed to direct 'The Force Awakens', which was later directed by JJ Abrams. According to him directing Star Wars gives a lot of pressure.

The Oscar-nominated director said that he had spoken with Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy about the job at that time. He said, “I can't imagine the kind of intestinal fortitude one has to have following up the success of these last two”. He further added, “That's a whole other level. One is that you have to endure the withering abuse of Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, and the other is you have to live up to a billion or a billion-five, and that becomes its own kind of pressure”.

Talking about the pressure of directing such movies he said, “You'd have to really clear your head, I think. You'd have to really be sure this is what you wanted to do because of either way, it's two years of your life, 14 hours a day, seven days a week”. Star Wars has not been an easy assignment for many directors for sure. Earlier, Colin Trevorrow, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had also helmed this film, who later quit for various reasons.
