I Hated Feeling Depressed: Cara Delevingne Talks About Her Struggle With Depression

Suicide Squad actress Cara Delevingne recently opened up about her struggle with depression. The actress sat down with The Edit magazine and shared that she tried to reach out to people but they could not understand her. She had reached the point where she felt like she didn’t want to live anymore.

“I hated feeling depressed, I hated that feeling. I was very good at disassociating from emotion completely. And all the time I was second-guessing myself, saying something and then hating myself for saying it”, Cara revealed. She went on to say, “I didn’t understand what was happening apart from the fact that I didn’t want to be alive anymore”.

When she approached people for help, they would say, “‘But you’re so lucky,’ and I’d be like: ‘I know I’m the luckiest girl in the world and I wish I could appreciate it”, the 25-year-old said. Cara is learning how to be happy on her own and not rely on other people for her happiness. It took her a long time but now she can be happy by herself.

On the work front, the actress was last seen in ‘Tulip Fever’ which came out on September 1.
