Jennifer Lawrence Roped In For Dear Fidel

It has been reported that Silver Linings Playbook actress Jennifer Lawrence has boarded the Dear Fidel train. The actress will be playing the role of Fidel Castro’s lover Marita Lorenz. The movie will be focussed on Marita as she meets Fidel at the age of 19 and goes on to become an assassin.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will be based on a true story which will be written by Eric Warren Singer. Dear Fidel will be produced by Matt Tolmach. It is also suspected that the movie will be shot in Cube as the embargoes are being lifted.

Jennifer was last seen in the film Joy, which released on December 25 last year. The movie was directed by David O. Russell and starred Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Édgar Ramírez and Isabella Rossellini. The actress has been nominated for an Academy Award for her role in Joy.
