Patricia Arquette pitches in for women equality in US

The Academy this year seems to have gotten a touch of women empowerment. With the red carpet sexism and speeches, actress Patricia Arquette who won the best actress in a supporting role award for her performance in Boyhood, made a loud pitch for equal wages and respect in Hollywood and the U.S.

Patricia in a stern and moving acceptance speech not only gave out a message much to be noticed, but also made a statement strong enough. “To every woman who gave birth to every tax payer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody’s equal rights. It’s our time to have wage equality once and for all and equal rights for women in the United States of America,” she said. The wage indifference between the male and the female actors in the industry has been a long held discussion. Let’s see if Patricia’s word marks any difference from here on.
