Seth Rogen has been tapped in to star in the upcoming film ‘Newsflash’. The movie focuses on CBS’ coverage of the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Seth will reportedly play legendary anchor Walter Cronkite in the flick.

Director Gordon Green will be at the helm of affairs for the flick, while Ben Jacoby will be writing the script. This will be the second time that both Seth and Rogen will be working together. They have earlier worked together in 2008 comedy Pineapple Express.

The movie has been produced by former Warner Bros. production president Greg Silverman through his Stampede Ventures along with Adam Kolbrenner of Madhouse Entertainment . Newsman Dan Rather, producer Don Hewitt, and CBS network president James Aubrey will also be shown in the film. There are rumours that Mark Ruffalo will play the role of Hewitt and Bryan Cranston essay the role of Aubrey.

Cronkite, 46 at the time, was referred to as the most trusted TV newsman voice of America, though he was not the first one to announce about the president’s death.
