Here's How Superhero Films Did On The Top 100 Highest Grossing Hollywood Films List
Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman was a hit among critics and fans. The film, which successfully brought the world’s favourite female superhero to the big screen, got DC a lot of kudos that also translated into the money it made at the box office. However, how well did it really perform when compared to other superhero films ever released?
Collider did an insightful ranking of movies based on their worldwide businesses and also on the domestic (North America) front. The data, taken from Box Office Mojo, has also been adjusted for inflation. The film made it to the number one spot when it comes to the most successful superhero films, with Marvel’s Avengers on number one spot, followed by Avengers Age of Ultron and Iron Man 3.
Here is how superhero films did on the list of top 100 highest grossing films, ever:
Wonder Woman($789 million), stood at 68th position with on the list that was won by Marvel’s Avengers ($1.519 billion). Overall, James Cameron’s Avatar is still at number one spot with $2.788 billion.
The sequel to Gal Gadot, Chris Pine’s film is scheduled for release in 2019. Gal will be seen again in DC’s Justice League as Wonder Woman. The film will also star Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and more.
Justice League releases in November.
