Debutant director Sanjotha’s dream project Mirchi Mandakki Kadak Chai is all set to hit the screens today. The film is already making news for its unique title and theatrical trailer. Talking about the title, Sanjotha had earlier revealed that it came into her mind, while she was cooking.

"The snack essentially signifies three characters that constitute my film. I was delighted and my team agreed with me. We tweaked the screenplay to incorporate a stall with a North Karnataka couple that sells these snack items which are native to that region," says Sanjotha.

Mirchi Mandakki Kadak Chai promises to be a complete effort from all newcomers. The comedy flick features Badekilla Pradeep, Sachin BG, Apporva Bharadwaj and Namratha in the lead roles. Talking about the film, Badekilla Pradeep says, “the film is a original story by a debutant, I am sure this movie will convey a good message to the viewers in a comical way.”

Speaking about his role, software engineer-turned-actor Sachin says, "Since it is my debut film, I had to learn a lot. I would come to Bengaluru every weekend, for two months, to attend the acting workshop. Though the commute was taxing, it really helped me prepare for my role,” adding "The character I play, Manoj, is very similar to my personality. It is that of an emotional and reserved guy. So, I could relate to it and understand how to essay it quite easily,"

When asked how it was to be directed by a woman, he says, "It didn't feel like we were being directed by a woman. Sanjotha is very strict and clear with what she wants from her actors. Her script was thorough and her instructions clear, so that made it easy for us to understand the entire process. And since we had prepared for our characters thoroughly, before we began shooting, she would scream at us if we needed more than two takes, which is understandable."
