‘I believe it's my name change that brought me luck’, says Vinutha Lal

Vinutha Lal joins the list of celebrities who have changed their names for luck in the industry. An astrologer in Kochi suggested her to change the name, and now she is Aswasthy. “As per astrology, my nakshatra is Aswathy, and so the astrologer suggested a name beginning with the alphabet A. So I thought why not Aswathy itself”, said the Parankimala actress.

Though, the actress had changed her name before signing in for her last project, Bhaiyya Bhaiyya, but made it official recently. She admitted, “I had changed my name before signing up the Johny Antony project. I had lost eight kilos for the film and everybody appreciated my new look. I believe it's my name change that brought me luck! Now I am getting film offers not only from Malayalam but also from other industries”.

Talking about her role in upcoming flick, Chilaneragalil Chilar, she said, “So far I have only taken up traditional characters in M-Town, but this film will see me in a modern avatar. Sanjjanaa Galrani and I are the two leading ladies in the film”. She will also be seen in a Tamil project, directed by Pandiraj, and a Telugu film.
