    Mammootty To Reprise This Legendary Role After 25 Years

    Malayalam superstar Mammootty is a well-known actor and producer who has starred in over 350 movies with a film career spanning over three decades. In 1989, the actor starred in Oru Vadakan Veeragadha which was a biopic on the Malabar folk legend. The actor portrayed the role of the anti-hero Chandu Chekavar in the movie which was penned by MT Vasudevan Nair and helmed by Hariharan.

    It has been revealed that the actor will be reprising the role of Payyamvelli Chandu, in an upcoming movie which will have the same name. The movie will be helmed by Harriharan who also directed the 1989 thriller drama. The upcoming flick will be penned by Ranjith and is deemed to be a big-budget movie.

     Although, Harriharan revealed that he wanted to direct the film much earlier and even asked MT Vasudevan to write the script for the biopic back in 2009, but due to change in plans, the scriptwriter wrote the script of Pazhassi Raja. The 2009 movie, Pazhassi Raja starred Mammootty as a warrior King and was a super hit.
