5 Larger Than Life Bollywood Films That Are Set To Strike In 2018

There are at least 20 notable films that are destined to set the Box Office on fire in 2018. However, there are five larger than life films that would definitely stand out amongst the crowd. These are the films which are either period affairs or boast of a futuristic set up. What is also common in these films is the fact that there would be VFX galore and most importantly they would all make for big screen entertainment that can be enjoyed only in theaters.

Padmavati

It is now a given that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film would hit the screens in 2018. Expected to be the first major release of the New Year, this one is indeed designed as a dream come true on celluloid as Bhansali brings his vision of the period affair come into play. Deepika Padukone , Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor feature in this opulent drama that is easily one of the biggest that Bollywood has to offer.

Even 2.0 was planned for 2017 release. Well, 2017's loss is 2018's gain as the biggie is simply made for the big screen. In fact just like Padmavati, even 2.0 is releasing in 3D which means audiences are in for a mega treat. A futuristic sci-fi affair, 2.0 belongs to a rare genre that the film industry has hardly tried. Shankar has designed a face-off between Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar which should be the talk of the town.

Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi

Though not much has been revealed about the film so far, one can trust director Krrish to be making something truly spectacular for the big screen with Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi. The very choice of subject warrants a larger than life presentation since audiences would be in for a treat once Kangana Ranaut enacts the part of Jhansi Ki Rani . With drama galore and battles unfolding, this one is a biggie indeed.

Gold

 

Of late, Akshay Kumar has been doing quite a few small films that don't boast of a larger than life canvas but have a germ of an idea that makes for a family audience viewing. With Gold though, he is dreaming much bigger as the story goes into the pre-independence era. A sports drama where Akshay Kumar is presumably playing a rich Indian who comes in support of the Indian hockey time, Gold should bring in 'gold'!

Thugs of Hindostan

 

Will Thugs of Hindostan turn out to be Bollywood's answer to Pirates of the Caribbean series? Well, nothing is really known about this Yash Raj offering except for the fact that the Dhoom : 3 team of Aamir Khan , Katrina Kaif and director Vijay Krishna Acharya are coming together to create something spectacular with this mega film. Inarguably the costliest film ever by YRF, this one should be a rage on its Diwali release.
