If there are 2 comic book houses that have captured the imagination of millions of comic book fans an the fans of big-budgeted blockbuster films, its got to be Marvel and DC. Let's explore the Marvel & DC dynamic in the first part of Superhero Series:

Marvel started its cinematic universe way back in 2008 with the first Iron Man film (if you want to count RDJ's cameo in The Incredible Hulk, then its The Incredible Hulk) that paved the way for more superhero films from Marvel's roster and it was very soon when Marvel assembeled some of its mightiest heroes in The Avengers to fend off a CGI army led by Tom Hiddleston's Norse God Loki.

DC came to the party late in 2013 with Zack Snyder' Man of Steel as it was only in 2012 when Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy came to an end and these films existed in a completely different universe. Though DC also started production of other films soon, its films were getting criticized for their dark tone and too much destruction. The inclusion of Ben Affleck as Batman brought some respite for the fanboys but it was Gal Gadot's Wonderwoman directed by Patty Jenkins that made everyone sit up and take notice of the formidable minds DC put behind its films.
