Rani Mukerji doesn’t need to prove anymore that she’s a splendid actress, and the trailer of YRF’s Hichki emotionally establishes this fact. "When life gives you Hichki, water it down with courage. Just like Naina Mathur celebrates self-belief, the resilience of human spirit and hope." is what YRF says.

Hichki is based on spreading awareness about ‘Tourette Syndrome’ which is - “a common neuropsychiatric disorder with onset in childhood, characterized by multiple motor tics and at least one vocal (phonic) tic.”

Rani’s character suffers from Tourette Syndrome, and Hichki (the popular Hindi term for the disorder) is the story of a woman who triumphs over her disability. Rani’s character wants to be a teacher, but the administration of a certain school questions her ability to pull off the job, since she has constant hiccups.

Rani will move you in the trailer of Hichki and leave you feeling uncomfortable about how unwelcoming we are as a society towards people with special abilities or disabilities. It has its moments of fun and humour which balance the intensity of the trailer.
