Director Kalanjium’s Next Is Based On Honour Killing
Director Kalanjium was recently seen in the film Kalavu Thozhirchalai. The actor was praised for his brilliant performance of a cop in the film. And now he is prepping up for his next directorial venture Mundhiri Kaadu, which is set against the backdrop of honour killing. The flick is based on a novel Petthavan which is written by noted writer Imayam.
Talking about the movie, Kalanjium said, “I am introducing Pugazh, who is the son of communist leader Mahendran as the hero. Subapriya will be seen as his romantic interest. The movie is about the predicaments faced by cashewnut farmers. At this backdrop, a dash of romance is thrown in. While the hero wants to become a police officer and the heroine aspires to become an IAS officer, their different castes come in their way and whether they fall prey to honour killing forms the crux.”
Since he played the role of a Muslim policeman in Kalavu Thozhirchalai and the story happened during the holy month of Ramzan, therefore his character was not allowed to have a pistol or do actions. Kalanjium had to undergo an image makeover for his role. He underwent a special natural facial treatment to look fair. Kalanjium said that he is ready to act in films if he gets good roles.
