S.P. Jhananathan's Purampokku to release in January

DirectorS.P. Jhananathan'snext film, Purampokku, starring Karthika, Arya, Vijay Sethupathi and Shaam will be released in January 2015. The film was in news recently because of its huge set made at Binny Mills and the historical significance associated with it. Purampokku was recently tagged in the list oftop 10 most anticipated films of the year.

"Purampokku will be our next release in Jan'15. The film's shoot is nearing completion after shooting a long schedule in the jail set. #Purampokku will be a major solo release, whichever day it releases. Will not pitch against any major film in Jan'15 & will decide that time," tweets UTV's Dhananjayan.

The film is directed by S.P. Jananathan of Peranmai fame and features Arya and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. The theme deals with the significance of capital punishment in a democratic society where Vijay plays railway employee with no ideology and Arya plays a social activist. The movie is jointly produced byUTV Motion Pictures and Binary Pictures.
