    Stylish actor Allu Arjun bagged Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) at Filmfare Awards South 2016 and immediately thanked his fans. It was Gona Ganna Reddy Rudhramadevi that got him the award this time. Interestingly, the actor recorded one of the biggest hits of his career in Sarainodu that was released last this April, with many anticipating him to take away Best Actor (Male) next year.

    "I've received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor thrice, but it feels very different and special that I am receiving it for playing a Supporting Actor this time. I want to thank the audience of both the Telugu speaking states for standing by me throughout my journey. I am grateful that the people of Telangana supported me when I spoke in the Andhra accent, just as much as the people of Andhra embraced my Telangana dialect", emotional Allu said while receiving the award.

This year Best Actor (Male) was bagged by Mahesh Babu for Srimanthudu, where as Best Actor (Female) was taken home by Nayantara for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. The Best Director was without any doubt was taken by S.S. Rajamouli for Baahubali: The Beginning.
