Lingaa Controversies to be spoofed as film

Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa, which flopped at the box office, despite great expectations, was surrounded by lots of controversies. Now, as per the new reports, a spoof will be made on the film, which will fictionalise the controversial story behind the film. Also, actor Srinivasan will play the lead in this project.

A source close to the project said, “It’s going to be made on the lines of the film ‘Tamizh Padam’, a spoof that took a dig at several popular Tamil films without hurting the sentiments of anybody associated with it. An official announcement regarding this project will be made soon”. Surprisingly, Singaravelan, one of the distributers of Lingaa will be producing this project.

Srinivasan, who has been roped in to play the lead role confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, I’ve signed the project, but I’m not allowed to say anything more”. Lingaa released on Rajinikanth’s birthday last year and turned out be a great loss to the distributors. Subsequently, the distributors demanded compensation from the actors, which lead Rajinikanth to intervene in the matter and pay Rs. 10 crores to the distributors.
