Shalini Pandey: My Heart Was Set On Acting

Actress Shalini Pandey has made her Tollywood debut with the recently released movie 'Arjun Reddy', directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.  The actress, who started her acting career in theater in Jabalpur, had actually gone through a lot before she stepped into the film industry. The debutant actress is an engineering graduate, whose strict father wanted her to pursue a career in the IT sector.

Recently in an interview, the actress talking about her father revealed, “He wasn’t convinced about my career choice. He thought I should take up an IT job. But my heart was set on acting. He had accompanied me to my first discussion with Sandeep (director) for Arjun Reddy. It took me over a week to convince him to allow me to meet the director and eventually, I somehow got him to allow me to sign the film as well. It wasn’t easy”.

The 23-year-old actress shared that it wasn’t a pleasant ride for her as it took nearly five months for the film to start and meanwhile her relationship with her father got strained. However, after the film got over the actress’ made peace with her father. Now the young actress is celebrating her film’s success, which is pulling in at the box office really well.
