With Language friction, TFCC asks for two ROs

Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) has made a recommendation to the Shyam Benegal Committee in writing. They want the committee to install two Regional Officers for CBFC Hyderabad. There point is the officers should be well acquainted with Telugu as it is the chief language of spoken in AP and Telangana and should be separate officer handling states.

"The CBFC regional officer should have knowledge of all dialects of the regional language. There should be two in-charge officers in CBFC", the film chamber wrote to the committee earlier this year. The report was submitted by committee to the centre, it listed out all the recommendations it had received.

"The current rules stipulate that the certified version of a film should be given to the CBFC or such archival agency as may be specified. Films often undergo changes not only on account of certification but also due to business exigencies. As a result, this version of a film does not effectively portray the true work of a fiImmaker and the Director's cut is inevitably lost for posterity”, said committee. It added that the recommittee recommended every applicant be asked to deposit the Director’s Cut in the NFAI for preservation of Indian Cinema
