Matt LeBlanc and Courteney Cox share heartfelt tribute to Matthew Perry

Courteney Cox, who portrayed Monica, Perry's on-screen wife, shared a poignant Instagram clip featuring moments with Chandler, Perry's character, expressing her gratitude for every shared moment. Meanwhile, Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey, posted his initial tribute, stating, "It was an honor to call you my friend," and bidding a heartfelt farewell with a heavy heart. Perry, aged 54, was discovered deceased at his Los Angeles residence last month, prompting a global outpouring of grief from devoted fans.

Matthew Perry's Passing Mourned Worldwide

Last month, Cox and Le Blanc, along with cast members Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer, united in a collective statement, deeming Perry's death an "unfathomable loss."

Expressing their profound grief, the statement conveyed, "We are all deeply devastated by the loss of Matthew. We will forever hold onto the joy, the luminosity, and the brilliant intelligence he brought to every moment - not only in his work but in life.

"He consistently lit up the room with his humor. Beyond that, he embodied sweetness, with a heart that was giving and selfless."

A Tribute to Shared Moments

LeBlanc took the lead in offering an individual tribute, posting cherished on-set pictures with Perry on Instagram. He expressed, "The moments we shared are honestly among my life's favorites. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I'll always smile when I think of you, and I'll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly, brother; you're finally free."

Shortly after, Cox followed suit on Instagram, adding her tribute alongside a selected clip. She wrote, "When you work closely with someone like I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now, here's one of my favorites."

Earlier this month, Matthew Perry's funeral occurred, reportedly attended by his Friends co-stars. The cause of his death is currently under investigation by authorities.

In his honor, a new foundation has been established, dedicated to upholding his legacy of aiding those grappling with the challenges of addiction.
