    The long-awaited live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender debuts on Netflix, premiering on Thursday, February 22nd. Fans of the original animated series have eagerly anticipated the faithful portrayal of their beloved characters, especially following the disappointment of the 2010 Last Airbender film.

    The beloved animated series which came out in 2008 is set in a mystical world where people can bend the elements of water, fire, air, and earth. The Avatar, capable of mastering all elements, maintains balance and peace. With rich storytelling and diverse characters, it captivated audiences of all ages.

    Aang

    Gordon Cormier, known for his role in "Lost in Space," leads as Aang, the central 12-year-old Avatar and final Airbender. Aang's journey is to master all four elements and fulfill his destiny of saving the world. He embodies a carefree, playful nature, but despite his initial hesitation, he must embrace the path of heroism and grow into his role.

    Katara

    Kiawentiio, recognized for her role in Anne With an E, portrays Katara, the final waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe. Katara is deeply compassionate, opposing violence and injustice. Alongside her brother Sokka, she embarks on Aang's journey to thwart the Fire Nation, honing her waterbending skills as they progress.

    Sokka

    Ian Ousley, known for his role in 13 Reasons Why, plays Sokka, the overconfident and bold warrior hailing from the Southern Water Tribe. Despite lacking bending abilities, Sokka excels with his boomerang and serves as a frequent source of comedic relief.

    Zuko

    Dallas Liu, recognized for his roles in PEN15 and Shang-Chi, takes on the role of Prince Zuko. As the son of Fire Lord Ozai, and skilled firebender, Zuko is exiled from the Fire Nation and tasked with capturing the Avatar to reclaim his honor.

    Iroh

    Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, known for his roles in The Mandalorian and Kim's Convenience, portrays Iroh, the retired Fire Nation general and uncle of Zuko. He serves as a serene and sagacious mentor to Zuko, possessing mastery in firebending.

    Fire Lord Ozai

    Daniel Dae Kim, renowned for his roles in Lost and Hawaii Five-0, embodies Fire Lord Ozai, the tyrannical leader of the Fire Nation who banished Prince Zuko. Possessing immense firebending abilities, Ozai rules with cruelty and ambition.

    Azula

    Elizabeth Yu, known for her work in May December, takes on the role of Princess Azula, the formidable younger sister of Zuko. A prodigious firebender, Azula harbors ambitions to usurp her brother's position as heir to the Fire Nation.
