After celebrating his daughter Ira Khan’s wedding last month, Aamir Khan is all set to bounce himself into work again. He had announced two big projects of his namely Sitaare Zameen Par and Lahore: 1947. The latest development suggests that the superstar will begin filming both the movies from February this year.

Talking about Sitaare Zameen Par, the film stars Aamir alongside Genelia D’souza. He will also be producing the same. The prepping for the film has begun extensively and it is all set to go on floors from February 3, 2024. The movie will be directed by RS Prasanna. A source close to the development revealed to Pinkvilla, “He has finally zeroed down on his look for the film and has done several reading sessions with the ensemble cast. It’s going to be a marathon schedule for Sitaare Zameen Par and the actor has allotted 70 to 80 working days on the film. With a lot of time invested in pre-production, this would be among the fastest films that Aamir would deliver to the audience.” However, it is unclear whether the movie is a sequel to Aamir’s 2007 cult film Taare Zameen Par. The rumours of the same sparked since Sitaare Zameen Par sounds familiar to the 2007 film.

On the other hand, Lahore: 1947 is touted to be an ambitious period drama that will be bankrolled by Aamir. The movie stars Sunny Deol in the lead and will be helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The source further added to the publication, “Lahore: 1947 is a partition drama by Rajkumar Santoshi with Sunny Deol in the lead. The film goes on floors on February 12, 2024. The set work has already begun in Mumbai to recreate the era gone by. Multiple big sets to recreate India around the partition era are being put up''.

Aamir was last seen in Laal Singh Chadha. The film also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role and was an adaptation of Forrest Gump. The movie failed to do wonders at the box office.
