    Ahead of the release, the team of Adipurush launched the final trailer at Sri Venkateswara University Stadium in Tirupati. Recently, director Om Raut and Kriti Sanon were spotted visiting the Lord Venkateswara temple to seek blessings. A video from their visit has gone viral sparking controversy as the director gave the actress a goodbye kiss on her cheek at the temple.

    The video has received backlash from Ramesh Naidu Nagothu, the BJP State Secretary in Andhra Pradesh. The now-deleted tweet read, “Is it really necessary to bring your antics to a sacred place? Engage in public displays of affection, like kissing and hugging in front of the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala is deemed disrespectful and unacceptable." The head priest at Telangana's Chilkur Balaji Temple also condemned the act. Watch the viral video here:

    Reacting to the clip, one of the netizens wrote, “Yeah... He shouldn't kiss a girl at temple premises” Another commented, “He is seeking the attention.” “@omraut @kritisanon what kind of ethics is this coming to temple in open house kissing is not acceptable have some decency” On the other hand, some defended them. “What's wrong? Only fools within the fools will create a controversy,” wrote one user. Another added, “This is just stupid , she is playing sita , she is not sita ! Stop this nonsense.”

    Meanwhile, Adipurush is the upcoming epic drama based on Ramayana which stars Prabhas and Kriti in the roles of Raghava and Janaki respectively. Saif Ali Khan essays antagonist Lankesh, while Sunny Singh plays Lakshmana in the upcoming movie. Devdatta Nage, Vatsal Sheth and Sonal Chauhan also feature in key roles. Backed by T-Series and Retrophiles, the film is made on a whopping budget of Rs 500 crore, one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. It is scheduled to hit screens on June 16, 2023.
