However, the film was previously named Mayday and in a recent group media interview, the actor revealed the reason behind the title change of the movie.

Talking about the same, Ajay Devgn said, “People were not understanding it. I still thought that we'll explain everything about it in the promo. Mayday actually means final distress call but still, many people were asking me what the title means. Then one day I was sitting with a very educated man and he said asked 'Is your film Mayday based on labor-day?' (May 1 is celebrated in Maharashtra as Labor Day). I got very scared when I heard this and thought that even such a well-read and educated person is not understanding the meaning of the title so it has to be changed.”

The Tanhaji : The Unsung Warrior actor added, “Then the title was kept Runway 34 because when you see the film, the whole story revolves around runway number 34. Every airport has a different number of runways according to the degrees so when you see the film, you'll understand that all the events take place on that particular runway.”

In an exclusive interview with Desimartini, Ajay Devgn had spoken about working with Amitabh Bachchan in the film with whom he has a very close association. With him, there's this comfort zone that makes the whole process all the more comfortable because I've known him since a kid. The kind of an actor he is and the kind of dedication that he shows, he really inspires you. He tells you that he'll come to shoot at 11 am but arrives on set at 9 am in the morning (laughs).”
