Alia Bhatt going for a name change, says 'I don’t want to feel left out...'

It has been the year of Alia Bhatt ! As the actress gave hit Gangubai Kathiawadi, happily got married to her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and expecting her first child. Amid all these happenings, the actress still feels left out. Yes, she has recently decided to go for a name change as she doesn’t want to be the Bhatt anymore while Kapoors are travelling together.

While other Bollywood actresses like Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Bipasha Basu among others have adopted their husband’s surname after marriage. Alia is yet to add Kapoor-Bhatt or Bhatt-Kapoor to her name. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, the Dear Zindagi actress said, “We are going to have a child now. I don’t want to be the Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are travelling together; you know what I mean? I don’t want to feel left out.”

Reportedly, the change in her name will be done only on official documents. As she made it clear that she would still be credited as Alia Bhatt in movies. Furthermore, the actress said that he hasn’t yet changed her marital status from single to married in her passport. On the other hand, Ranbir has already made the changes. To note, Alia and Ranbir tied the knot in their Mumbai apartment on April 14 this year. They announced their pregnancy just three months after their marriage.

In terms of work, Alia is currently promoting her much-awaited fantasy drama Brahmastra . The film marks her first onscreen collaboration with her husband Ranbir Kapoor. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Dharma Productions, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in prominent roles. It is set to arrive in theatres on September 9. Besides Brahmastra, she will also be seen in Karan Johar’s directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh.
