'Bollywood failed...but i will make you proud': Urvashi Rautela announces Parveen Babi biopic, netizens react

Urvashi Rautela has signed up for the biopic of yesteryear actor and pop culture icon Parveen Babi. The actress had attended the Cannes Film Festival for a photocall launch of her upcoming film, but not many believed it. In the wee hours of Sunday, the actress shared the screenshot of the authorised storyline of the upcoming film written by Dhiraj Mishra on her social media to confirm it.

Taking to her Instagram handle, the actress informed that the film will be directed by Wasim S Khan and she will be playing the titular role. “Bollywood Failed #ParveenBabi but i will make you proud #PB ~ UR ॐ नमः शिवाय Trust the magic of new beginnings 🪄#GlamourGirl #SizzlingSiren #lonewarrior #love #UrvashiRautela #Biopic,” she captioned the post.

Soon after Urvashi’s announcement post surfaced, fans chimed in the comment section to congratulate her. One of the fans wrote, “Thank you for making the movie about #Parveen babi.” “It will be the superhit @urvashirautela because you are a hardworking person. Love your acting in every movies,” commented a fan. “We can't contain our excitement to see you grace the big screen as Parveen Babi, bringing her story to life in the most captivating way. It's bound to be one of your best movies yet! #PB,” stated a social media user comment. “First actress ever to come in support of Parveen Babi!” added another.

Earlier, several industry insiders claimed that Urvashi is lying about the biopic. “It is very clear that she is lying, and it is bogus news. There is no such project being made. There are no conversations around any such project in the trade circuit too. Also, a photocall launch without anyone from the makers side is just not possible. So, Urvashi was there all by herself, there was no producer, writer, director… So what is this photocall launch? It shows how much truth is in her claim. She has not even revealed the names of the makers,” a source told Hindustan Times.

Meanwhile, Urvashi was last seen in Inspector Avinash alongside Randeep Hooda. Directed by Neeraj Pathak, the action crime thriller web series also stars Soundarya Sharma, Abhimanyu Singh, and Freddy Daruwala.
