Dasvi: Amitabh Bachchan shuts the trolls as he promotes Abhishek's film, says 'kya kar loge'

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been actively promoting his son Abhishek Bachchan ’s movie Dasvi which was finally released today. The Piku actor has been praising his son on social media and leaving no stone unturned to promote his film, however, his gesture did not go down well with netizens.

On Wednesday, Amitabh took to Twitter and gave a befitting reply to the trolls. “Ji haan huzur, main karta hoon: badhayi, prachaar, mangalachar. Kya kar loge (Yes sir, I do: congratulations, promotions, invocations!!! What will you do?).”

Earlier, Amitabh had shared an appreciation post for Abhishek on Twitter, expressing how his son has proved to be a fitting heir. He quoted his father, writer-poet Harisvansh Rai Bachchan, and had written, "Mere bete, bete hone se tum mere uttradhikari nahi hoge. Jo mere uttradhikari honge, wo mere bete honge - Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Abhishek, tum mere uttradhikari hoge, bus keh diya to keh diya (My son, you will not be my heir just because you are my son. My heir will be my son - Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Abhishek, you will be my heir, I have said it."

Reacting to this, Abhishek had said that he appreciates his father’s kind words and wants to make his family proud. He had told Etimes, “Well, I don’t know, any individual, an actor or any other professional, as and when they’re recognised, let alone praised by their idol or their hero, it’s not going to make their life. So I’m in a similar situation.”

Meanwhile, Abhishek’s Dasvi has begun streaming on Netflix and JioCinema. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film follows the story of a middle-aged corrupt politician who decides to appear for the 10th board exam in jail. The film also stars Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles.

On the work front, Amitabh will next be seen alongside Ajay Devgn in Runway 34 which is slated to release on April 29.
