Deadpool 3 writers address Chris Hemsworth cameo rumors and reveal Marvel Studios is very supportive of R-rated content in the movie

Ever since the Fox - Disney merger fans of Deadpool were worried about the future of the franchise especially its adult humor and violence as the MCU has a reputation of keeping their projects strictly PG-13, the studio had said that Deadpool 3 was in development and that it would be R-Rated, a first for the MCU.

Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who wrote the scripts for parts one and two were brought back to work on the script with Shawn Levy directing.

in a recent interview with Den of Geek, both writers gave an update on the project.

When asked about how the process of introducing Deadpool into the MCU, Rhett Reese responded by saying “It’s a thrill, It’s an absolute thrill to have the band back together, to have a new backdrop in the MCU with new characters, new villains, that kind of thing. You know, it’s never a marriage we necessarily saw coming — Fox and Disney, that was an external thing [separate] from our storytelling process. But we’re absolutely finding the serendipity and the gold in that situation, or we’re trying to.”

While both writers did not give up anything regarding the plot including rumors about a cameo by Thor aka Chris Hemsworth , Wernick said

"Oh man, if he did, we certainly couldn’t talk about it. [But] it’d be super cool."

They were also asked if Marvel Studios tries to tone down the violence of adult humor the franchise is famous for, to which Reese responded

“They’ve been very supportive with regard to that, Now when it comes to a particular joke, if we cross a line, maybe we’ll hear at some point, ‘Maybe not that joke.’ But I think they’ve been incredibly supportive of what we’re doing because obviously, we were doing it separate from them for a long time, and I think they’ve seen the success and they’ve had their own even greater success. So hopefully it’ll be a marriage made in heaven. But we’ve definitely got their support, and that’s a great thing to feel.”

The recent update from the writers is very promising as it is clear that Marvel wants to stick on to what made the Deadpool movies such a worldwide success and fans will finally get to see the merc with a mouth in the MCUs first R-rated movie.
