For those unfamiliar, Maestro is latest biographical romantic drama directed by Bradley Cooper. The biopic centers on the relationship between American composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre (played by Carey Mulligan). The particular scene was shot in Ely Cathedral, where Berstein had famously played the symphony in 1973. Bradley revealed it took him six years to prepare for the scene. "That scene I was so worried about because we did it live... I was recorded live. I had to conduct them. And I spent six years learning how to conduct six minutes and 21 seconds of music. I was able to get the raw take where I just watched Leonard Bernstein [conduct] at Ely Cathedral... And so I had that to study,” he said during the screening of the film.
