Did Katrina Kaif take revenge from Brahmāstra stars Alia & Ranbir for dancing on Chikni Chameli through Phone Bhoot?

In a scene in Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor danced to latter’s ex girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s song Chikni Chameli. Well, apparently Phone Bhoot has taken digs at the Ayan Mukerji film.

Did Katrina Kaif take revenge from Brahmāstra stars Alia & Ranbir for dancing on Chikni Chameli through Phone Bhoot?

When Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva arrived in theatres, netizens loved many things about the film including Shah Rukh Khan’s magnificent cameo as Vanarastra. But there were also a few reasons why the film as well as the team was brutally trolled. As they say, you can’t make everybody happy. Well, one reason was Alia Bhatt constantly taking Ranbir Kapoor ’s character Shiva’s name. Another was a scene where the two danced to Katrina Kaif ’s super hit track Chikni Chameli . Netizens accused Ranbir of ‘insulting’ his ex girlfriend Katrina by dancing on the song with his now wife Alia.

Katrina’s Phone Bhoot arrived in theatres yesterday, and if a tweet is to be believed, then the actress got her revenge from Alia and Ranbir. The post shared by a netizen revealed that the recently released horror comedy apparently took digs at Brahmāstra. The tweet read: “Not the cast of #PhoneBhoot going to a secret hidout of the antagonist and saying: 'AATMARAM KI JAGAH KO KAISE DHOONDE, YEH TOH GOOGLE MAPS PE BHI NAHI HAI' or capturing his weapon and saying: 'ASTRA HAI TOH BUTTON TOH HOGA'.”

For those who did not understand, let us shed light on these dialogues. When Brahmāstra released, many pointed out that Shiva and Isha found Āshram’s address on Google Maps, when it was meant to be a ‘secret’ headquarters for Brahmānsh members. And by now we all know what ‘button’ means, because Isha was Shiva’s button in the film. Could these references in Phone Bhoot be a coincidence? Well, we will never know.

Also starring Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi, the horror comedy features Katrina as a bhootni who joins the bhootbusters in their new business. While Phone Bhoot released in theatres, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva arrived on streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar on 4th November.
