Exclusive- Abhimanyu Dassani on his lack of paparazzi recognition: I don't care about fame, value my personal life more

    Abhimanyu Dassani is gearing up for his upcoming massy-entertainer flick, Nikamma. Despite impressing the audience with his varied roles in Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and Meenakshi Sundareshwar, the actor has shared instances where he was not allowed to enter his own event or the paparazzi’s lack of interest in him. In a candid chat with Desimartini, Abhimanyu opened up about the same.

    Abhimanyu Dassani is gearing up for his upcoming massy-entertainer flick, Nikamma . Despite impressing the audience with his varied roles in Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and Meenakshi Sundareshwar, the actor has shared instances where he was not allowed to enter his own event or the paparazzi’s lack of interest in him. In a candid chat with Desimartini, Abhimanyu opened up about the same.

    Abhimanyu Dassani was quick to reveal that he remains unbothered about the lack of paparazzi frenzy surrounding him and said that he does not care about fame. The actor said, “I always laugh when I say about all these things. It does not matter to me and I do not care about fame.” Abhimanyu stressed that he is satisfied with his work doing all the talking for him.

    He furthermore went on to say, “I’m a shy person and so I like my personal life a lot more. I like to visit the Sev Puri and Bhel Puri stalls outside my house. I love to have Nariyal Paani (coconut water) at the stall outside my place. Then I have an Idli Wala outside my house who sells Idli on his cycle, he makes delicious Chutney (laughs).”

    Abhimanyu denied himself to be called ‘grounded’ and instead preferred to label himself to be ‘real’ as a human being despite entering showbiz. The actor furthermore revealed that it is sad that celebrities have to depend on the constant paparazzi glare to be recognized and feels that one’s work giving them validation should be normalized in the film industry.

    He furthermore spoke about his next comedy flick, Ankh Micholi. The actor said, “ Pagalpanti Hone Wali Hai (It will be madness). It was an amazing experience.” Abhimanyu Dassani also listed down the two things that have now been defining his script selection process. The actor revealed, “There are just two things. One, as an audience, would I like to watch that particular movie and number two, is it a challenge for me and will I be enjoying the challenge?” before signing off.

    Talking about Nikamma, the movie has been directed by Sabbir Khan. It also stars Shilpa Shetty and Shirley Setia in the lead roles. The movie is slated to release on June 17.
