'Hero banta nhi hai...': Arjun Kapoor to join Ajay Devgn's Singham Again as an antagonist, netizens react

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is leaving no stone unturned to take his Singham franchise to heights. As per the latest reports, the filmmaker has roped in Arjun Kapoor to play the baddie in Singham Again against Ajay Devgn. While the film was already on the buzz with the addition of Deepika Padukone as Lady Singham, Kapoor’s entry has not excited the fans much. While some netizens feel that the filmmaker could have zeroed down on Arjun Rampal or John Abraham, others predict that the film will be a flop.

Arjun is set to play the antagonist in the upcoming fifth instalment of the Singham franchise, however, the makers have not made an official announcement yet. “Yes, Arjun Kapoor is joining Rohit Shetty's cop universe and this is the biggest surprise that Rohit and his team have kept under wraps. However, the twist in the tale is the fact that Arjun is playing the part of a villain and not the hero. Arjun will be the villain against the 4 supercops - Singham, Simmba, Sooryavanshi and Lady Singham,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Reacting to Arjun’s addition to Singham Again, one of the netizens wrote, “Director be like---- Hero to bann nhi paya chlo villain hi bna dete hai.” Another user commented, “Wow😂matlab ab ye last movie hai Singham series ki.” “Rohit bhai ka dimag hill gya hai stunt krte huye...arjun rampal ko lena tha ise le liya bhari mistake ho gya,” a netizen reacted. “Is se achha John Abraham ko le lete,” added another netizen. Some of the other comments read, “Movie flop krvaane ke liye iska naam hi kaafi hai”, “Tab to packup ki taiyari abhi se krlo” and “Acting to isku ati nahi sahi se or ye villain banta kate.”

Meanwhile, Singham Again’s story will start from where Sooryavanshi ended and Ajay Devgn will be taking on Jackie Shroff’s character in the part as per reports. Deepika will be introduced as Ajay’s sister in the film. Arjun will be a villain against not one but 4 supercops - Singham, Simmba, Sooryavanshi and Lady Singham. The film is scheduled to release on August 15, 2024, and will clash with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule.
