This controversy had its origin on the 30th of May, when AJ Benza, a Hollywood gossip columnist, made the baseless claim on "Ask Dr Drew", a podcast hosted by Dr. Drew Pinsky.

    Benza alleged that Foxx was compelled to receive the Covid-19 vaccine while on a film set and suffered a brain blood clot post-vaccination, causing partial paralysis and blindness. Despite Foxx's team debunking the rumor, far-right commentators like Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk have continued to propagate the anti-vaccination narrative on the internet.
