John Abraham backs out of Sajid Khan's 100%, puts Awara Paagal Deewana 2 on backburner; here's why

Not only Pathaan proved to be a mega-blockbuster, but it also changed the game for John Abraham . The actor received critical acclaim for his action avatar as Jim in Siddharth Anand's directorial, so much so that the actor has now decided to focus more action genre. As per reports, he has walked out of Sajid Khan’s comedy-drama 100% post He and has also put on hold Awara Paagal Deewana 2 with makers already exploring other options.

A source close to the development said that John was looking forward to diversifying his lineup with comedy and masala entertainers. But the success of Pathaan has changed his heart. “He had signed on for 100% directed by Sajid Khan and was in advanced talks for Awara Pagal Deewana 2. But the success of Pathaan has changed it all and John isn’t in the mood to do a comedy film anytime soon. While he has backed out of 100%, the conversations of Awara Pagal Deewana 2 have taken a back seat,” the source told Pinkvilla.

Further, the source revealed that John will strategize his upcoming lineup for the coming two years with more focus on action movies.“The hunt is on and we would have an update on a film or two from John in a month’s time in this space. It’s also work in progress for a spin off to his character of Jim and mostly, the film will go into production in the next two years. Yash Raj Films and John have discussed this idea and believe the character has enough potential to blow big,” added the source.

Meanwhile, John is currently geared up for his upcoming geo thriller, Tehran, based on real events centering on the Russo-Ukrainian war.The film also stars Manushi Chhillar in pivotal role. Besides it, he also has Shivam Nair’s next which will be backed by Bhushan Kumar.
