Kangana Ranaut's attempt to set Ravan effigy on fire at Dussehra event goes wrong; watch

    Kangana Ranaut was invited for the Ravan Dahan ceremony at New Delhi's famed Lav Kush Ramleela on Tuesday.

    On the occasion of Dussehra, Kangana Ranaut performed Ravan Dahan at New Delhi's famed Lav Kush Ramleela on Tuesday. She became the first woman to set the Ravan effigy on fire, as per the 50-year history of the event. However, the actress failed to shoot the ceremonial arrow. Not only this, Ravan's effigy fell to the ground before she could attempt.

    The video of the same has been doing rounds on the internet triggering reactions from the netizens. In the clip, Kangana could be seen aiming for the effigy with the help of committee members. She wore a traditional red saree and tied her hair up into a neat bun. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena also accompanied her on the stage.

    “I can’t imagine the kind of anxiety, and embarrassment Kanagana must be feeling at that time," a netizen reacted to the video. Another user commented, “I can’t stop laughing at the person who is speaking in the background, putla jalaya jaye. Asatya par satya ki jeet hui hai and this is so funny and embarrassing, Kangana should have taken YouTube classes." “So much for being the stunt/action queen of Bollywood,” read a comment.     Kangana also promoted her upcoming film, Tejas at the Dussehra event. She will be seen playing the role of an Air Force pilot in the film. Backed by RSVP, Tejas is written and directed By Sarvesh Mewara. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 27, 2023. Besides it, Kangana also has a political drama, Emergency in which she will feature as former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry and Satish Kaushik among others. She has also signed up for Pradeep Sarkar’s new film in which she will play Bengali theatre legend Noti Binodini.
