Karan Johar recalls his first reaction when Alia Bhatt told him she is pregnant

Filmmaker Karan Johar shares a close bond with actress Alia Bhatt . When the actress gave him the news of her pregnancy, it was indeed an emotional moment for the filmmaker as he considers her like his daughter. In an interview with Etimes, Karan described in detail how the day was when he first heard about the good news.

The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director was having a bad hair day and hence was sitting in a hoodie with the cap on. Alia came to his office and broke the news and his tears just came out. He said he can’t believe she is having a baby. He felt as if his own baby is having a baby. It was a very emotional moment for him as he cried and Alia gave him a hug.

Further, Karan said that he has watched Alia transform into an outstanding artiste and into a wonderful self-assured woman. His first burst of parenting was when she walked into his office at the tender age of 17, and she has turned 29, these 12 years have been magical for both of them, he said. “ I can't wait to hold her baby in my arms. It will be a very emotional moment, as close to when I held my own children,” he added.

Alia announced her pregnancy with a mushy post on Instagram writing, “ Our baby coming soon..!!. She shared a picture of herself with her husband Ranbir Kapoor from their ultrasonography session. Alia tied the knot with Ranbir in an intimate ceremony on April 14 this year. She is currently in London shooting for her Hollywood project Heart of Stone.

Meanwhile, Karan is geared up for the seventh season of his popular celebrity chat show 'Koffee With Karan'. From Ranveer Singh -Alia Bhatt to Akshay Kumar -Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the show will stream on the OTT platform, Disney + Hotstar from July 7. On the film front, he is back in the director’s chair after a long gap for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani .
