Karan Johar reveals how Jugjugg Jeeyo star Anil Kapoor became his first friend in Bollywood; calls him ‘youngest man’

Karan Johar is undoubtedly one of the biggest celebrities of the Indian entertainment industry. Not only is he a director and producer, but also a chat show host and a reality show judge. He made it all the way up to the top of Bollywood with his talent and hard-work. But did you know that actor Anil Kapoor was KJo’s very first friend in the industry? Even though Anil was a superstar when Karan set out to make it big as a newbie filmmaker, a sweet bond blossomed between them during the latter’s first celebrity party.

During the trailer launch of their upcoming film Jugjugg Jeeyo, Karan revealed, “Undoubtedly my first friend in the business, and I mean that. Me and Aditya Chopra were at a party once and no one was talking to us. We were young and just excited to be at a film party, and then there was a superstar who walked toward us and only hung out with us.” He went on to add, “From then on, I felt love for him, and that love just grew into more love, respect remained, but the fact that he is the youngest man even today and works with the energy of a millennial, just speaks for itself.”

Karan further stated that there is nobody who can match the energy of Anil Kapoor. Well, we can’t help but agree! Which is why we are super excited to see him back on the silver screen in KJo’s next film Jugjugg Jeeyo, alongside Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani . Helmed by Raj Mehta, the comedy drama is all set to arrive in theatres on 24th June.
