    Merry Christmas is one of the highly anticipated releases of the year. The dark thriller brings fresh pairing Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif, promising engaging storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat.     Trailer:

    The makers on December 20, 2023 dropped the much-awaited trailer that left fans intrigued. About two-minute, twenty-second-long video starts with two mixer grinders, one with peanuts and red chillies and the other with what looks like sleeping pills. Then it introduces the characters of Katrina and Vijay crossing path on Christmas Eve. Then follows dramatic events that end up putting both in trouble. Sanjay Kapoor makes an appearance while Tinnu Anand's voiceover introduces us to the setup.     Plot:

    The plot revolves around two complete strangers (Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s characters) who embark on Christmas eve date that takes an unexpected turn. Then follows a series of unforeseen and surreal incidents that land them into an unexpected nightmare. The film is reportedly based on a French novel.

    Cast: 

    Helmed by Sriram Raghavan, the film is simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil. Backed by Ramesh Taurani and Sanjay Routray, the film stars Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi alongside a talented supporting cast including Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kazmi, and Tinnu Anand. The Tamil version has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kavin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams, while Radhika Apte and Ashwini Kalsekar have special cameos in both the versions.

    Runtime: 

    The Central Board of Film Certification has granted Merry Christmas a UA certificate. According to the reports, the runtime of the movie is 2 hours and 35 minutes.

     The makers of the film have recently hosted special screening ahead of its release.     OTT release: 

    Merry Christmas was expected to be released on December 23, 2022 in theatres. But the pandemic and other unforeseen situations, delayed the release. Now, the film is set to arrive in theatres on January 12, 2024. While the dates of its OTT release is yet to be announced, reports have it that Netflix bought the film for a whopping Rs 60 crore.
