Ms. Marvel's new promo pictures give us our best look at the new superhero and her family and friends from the show

Marvel Studios has released some new pictures from the upcoming show to get us better acquainted with the new superhero and her powers.

We see Kamala Khan played by Iman Vellani showing off her new powers to her best friend Bruno played by Matt Lintz, while her new powers are not accurate to the comic book version, they are still impressive to see.

We also see her with her family with Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan who is Kamala's mother, Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan who is her father, and Saagar Shaikh as Amir Khan her older brother.

In a recent interview actress Iman Vellani spoke about the tone of the show and said, "It is John Hughes-esque mixed with Lady Bird and Scott Pilgrim. It’s a lot more lighthearted than the other shows. We showcase that being a teenager is awkward, corny, and weird. We are self-aware of how cheesy the show gets sometimes, but when you are growing up everything is so heightened – your emotions, crushes, friendships – it all feels so new."

"Minor inconveniences also feel like the end of the world. We hold onto that feeling of when you are a kid just wanting to grow up," she continued. "And when you are a teenager you think you know everything but you don’t as you haven’t lived yet. We really lean into that.”

The full cast of the show includes Iman Vellani, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Laurel Marsden, Adaku Ononogbo, Laith Nakli, Travina Springer, and Aramis Knight.

The show will stream on Disney + on June 8, 2022.
