Priyanka Chopra ’s husband and American singer Nick Jonas joined the Team India cheering squad after an epic T20 cricket match against Pakistan. Team India’s win against the neighbouring country in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia indeed made Diwali a double celebration and even though cricket is not so popular in U.S.A, Nick seems to be an adherent follower now.

Nick tweeted cheering and congratulating Team India for the win a day after the match. He joined a sea of Indian celebrities who already can’t get enough of the India Pakistan face-off that happened in Melbourne on Sunday.

In his tweet, Nick wrote, “Congrats India on the #T20WorldCup win let’s go!”

Nick extending support to Team India did excite a lot of Indian fans who fondly refer to the American singer as ‘Jiju’ and even extended Diwali wishes to him in the replies on Twitter.

As Indian families go, Priyanka Chopra’s is one cricket loving family and looks like Nick has caught on and finally become a fan of the sport. The singer did enjoy a cricket match at his wedding with Priyanka Chopra in 2018, where Team Bride played and won against Team Groom.

Priyanka Chopra did remark in an interview that it was her family that insisted on the cricket match during her wedding as they wanted to test out how groom Nick Jonas would fair in the game. The actress remarked that while Nick is excellent at baseball, it is quite different from cricket.

Nick Jonas wasn’t the only celebrity cheering for Team India after their big win. While Virat Kohli ’s wife and actress Anushka Sharma penned a long note on his excellent innings, Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Varun Dhawan, Sushmita Sen, Vijay Deverakonda and several other stars also joined cricket fans across country in celebration.
