Not Shahid Kapoor but Vicky Kaushal finalised to play Karna in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's next?

A few months back, reports had been all over that Shahis Kapoor and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra might be joining hands. It would be for a film where the actor would be made to play Karna. But, the talks did not materialise. And now looks like the project is falling on the lap of none other than Vicky Kaushal !

If a report in Pinkvilla is to be believed, then Vicky Kaushal might be turning Karna for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's upcoming project. In fact, Vicky was also spotted recently outside the Bhaag Milkha Bhaag director's office. A source was quoted saying, “The project is extremely close to Rakeysh’s heart and has been wanting to make a film on it for many years now. Vicky will play the titular role in this mythological drama, which will be narrated from the perspective of Karna. Excel Entertainment will be producing the film and the trio are extremely excited to collaborate on this one. The movie is expected to roll by the end of this year, and Vicky will start with his prep closer to the shooting date.”

Now whether Vicky has signed the dotted lines or not is still a question. But, we would just hope that the actor gives his nod and we get to see the talented actor collaborate with the acclaimed director. Vicky Kaushal is a busy actor though, with several projects lined up. He has recently been busy shooting Laxman Utekar's next, opposite Sara Ali Khan . He will also be seen in Sam Manekshaw's biopic.
