Puneeth Rajkumar's birth anniversary celebrities and fans pay tribute to the late actor

Today marks the first birth anniversary of late Kannada power star Puneeth Rajkumar since his tragic death last October . The actor died of cardiac arrest at the age of 46.

Many members of the South Indian film fraternity expressed their love and admiration for the actor on Thursday. It also marks the release of his last movie James, which has been released on 4000 screens and has received positive critical and commercial success.

Puneeth Rajkumar who started out in the Kannada film industry as a child actor in the 1977 film Sanaadi Appanna, later in 1985 won The National Award for best child actor for his role in Bettada Hoovu .

The actor has appeared in over 26 films and is known for spending his birthdays with fans. In Karnataka, huge cut-outs and posters have been raised to celebrate his final movie, James.

James is an action thriller and Puneeth played the role of Santhosh Kumar aka "James" the head of a private security company, the movie is helmed by Chethan Kumar with Charan Raj in charge of the music.

Actors like Mohanlal , Yash , Varun Tej Konidela, Dhruva Sarja, Shanvi Srivastava, Unni Mukundan, and many more have paid tribute to the late actor with many remembering his kind nature.

The actor also received tributes from fans as well massive celebrations throughout Karnataka marking the success of James. The actor was working on the psychological thriller Dvitva. The late actor had a legion of fans and was an icon like his father Dr. Rajkumar.
