Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma shared his candid thoughts about actor Vijay Sethupathi on his social media pages on Wednesday. He claimed he was more impressed by Sethupathi's personality than his acting talents.

"After seeing him many times on SCREEN, I finally met the REAL @VijaySethuOffl to realise that he is even BETTER in REAL than on SCREEN," Ram Gopal Varma wrote on his Twitter page.

The reason behind their meeting is unclear. Is Ram Gopal Varma trying to rope in Sethupathi for his next directorial outing? Or was it just two members of the fraternity making each other’s acquaintance? At this moment, we have very little information about it.

Ram Gopal Varma was recently in Bengaluru to attend the Indian Racing Festival. He claimed that he was in the process of making an action film based on motorsport. "Me and my partner Ravi Varma [are] THRILLED to be in the company of some of the most EXTRAORDINARY drivers in INDIA, all thanks to Vamcy Merla, @JKTyreRacing, and the Indian Racing League @Irlofficial1. We are all RUSHHHing to make RUSHHH, INDIA’S 1st ever MOTOR SPORTS ACTION FILM," he tweeted.

In the meantime, Sethupathi was last seen in Merry Christmas. The film was released earlier this year in Hindi and Tamil. Written and directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film is a murder-mystery thriller set against the backdrop of the Christmas festival. The movie opened to mixed reviews and didn't perform well at the box office. The film is streaming on Netflix.

Sethupathi is now waiting for the release of Viduthalai Part 2. The film, written and directed by Vetrimaaran, is one of the most-awaited movies in Tamil this year. It is the second part of a two-part series that explores the dehumanising effects of police high-handedness.
