It is not a hidden fact that an equation between a director and an actor often goes south once the latter refuses their projects. And it seems that the latest to join the bandwagon was none other than Rohit Shetty who had taken a dig at Ranbir Kapoor for turning down his film Dilwale . An eagle-eyed fan of Ranbir’s shared a throwback interview of the actor with Film Companion’s Anupama Chopra. The fan revealed that Anupama had told Ranbir about Rohit’s statements without taking the latter’s name but that it was very clear that it was the Singham director only.

Talking about the same, the fan tweeted that Anupama had told Ranbir in the interview that there is a certain director who had told her that the Tamasha actor is not a hard-working artist and doesn’t have enough drive to be a good actor like his colleagues. The fan further added that the ‘colleague and the director’s film releases this Friday referring to Ranveer Singh as the colleague and Rohit Shetty as the director. Take a look at the tweet.

However, initially, fans were confused that the director might also be Sanjay Leela Bhansali since there were reports of the filmmaker being upset with Ranbir for rejecting his ambitious film, Baiju Bawra. But the fans decoded that it’s not SLB since he doesn’t hold any grudge against the Barfi actor having given him his debut film Saawariya before which Ranbir Kapoor was also an assistant director at his films. The fans thus concluded that the director in question might be Rohit Shetty only.

Needless to say, fans were quite angry with Rohit after the tweet went viral. One netizen said, “Rich from a Director who just cuts and copy pastes south movies on windows XP. No novelty just remakes and talks about hard work.” While another user said, “The director has huge ego and got his ego hurt because Ranbir rejected VD's role in Dilwale.” A netizen added, “It's Rohit Shetty for sure. He yesterday gave another interview to where he said that younger gen except Ranveer r so insecure of doing 2 hero films so Ranveer will be the next superstar.”

Reportedly, Rohit Shetty had offered Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan’s role in Dilwale. But Ranbir rejected the same since he didn’t want to play the second lead to Shah Rukh Khan. Since then, it was rumored that Shetty has been miffed with the Rockstar actor.
