Ranbir Kapoor says Karan Johar's fashion sense is 'too hip-hop' for his liking: 'He’s going through a little bit of a mid-life crisis'

Ranbir Kapoor weighed in on his friend and filmmaker Karan Johar ’s fashion choices in recent interview and the verdict is that he’s not impressed. The Shamshera star who is returning to the big screen after a hiatus of 4 years, was asked what he’d pick if he ever got to raid KJo’s closet and honest as ever, Ranbir’s answer was savage.

The actor felt that his own fashion choices are more ‘mature’ when compared to Karan’s who he felt is going through a ‘little bit of a mid-life crisis’. At the same time, Ranbir also balanced his answer by saying the filmmaker does have a lot of cool stuff in his closet and if he were to pick something it would be something from Karan’s Supreme collection which he says he was obsessed with during a phase in his life.

Ranbir’s comment on Karan’s fashion choices came during an interview with Mashable India where said, “Well, I think he’s going through a little bit of a mid-life crisis. Because the way he’s dressing is too hip-hop for my liking. Even I dress a little maturely than him. But he’s got cool stuff, especially all the Supreme stuff, there was phase where I was obsessed with Supreme, he started buying so much of Supreme. I was very jealous at that time but I am ok, but his Supreme stuff was very cool.”

But this wasn’t the only thing Ranbir spoke about in the interview with regards to Karan. The actor when as to pick between Karan Johar as a mentor or friend, picked friendship and showered compliments on the filmmaker for his ability to make new friends and maintain those friendships.

Talking about Karan as friend, Ranbir said, “You have a problem even at three in the morning you want to show him what to wear at the airport, you want to take his advice on a movie, you want to take his advice on a controversy, on anything. He always has the right advice to give you. I'm not sure if it's the right advice but he always has heartfelt advice to give you. Then it's up to you to take it or not.”
