The much-awaited magnum opus Brahmastra has finally been released today (September 9). There has been a lot of banking on the Ranbir Kapoor starrer especially when it comes to the box office numbers especially when Bollywood is desperately in need of a hit. All eyes were on the advance bookings of the movie and it seems like Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Astraverse’ might have beaten the coveted record of Kartik Aaryan ’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which had the record for one of the biggest openings for a Bollywood film this year.

According to reports by trade analysts and box office publications, Brahmastra’s advance box office collections were off to a roaring start right since its inception. A news report in India Today stated that 1,31,000 tickets for the movie were sold on September 6. With this, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer managed to surpass the advance day booking collections of Kartik Aaryan’s horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Talking about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s advance booking collections, the movie had managed to sell 1, 12, 000 tickets which is lesser than Brahmastra. Not only the Kartik Aaryan starrer but Brahmastra has also broken the record of SS Rajamouli’s RRR. The advance collection of the Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer was 1, 09, 000.

Apart from this, it seems that Brahmastra is creating even more astounding ripples in the box office even before the official first-day numbers come out tomorrow (September 10). The movie has sold tickets worth Rs 23 crore which clearly hints that the first-day collections of the movie will truly be impressive. According to a news report in Hindustan Times, the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer has also sold tickets worth Rs 11 crore.

Several trade analysts are now predicting that the first-day collection of the movie should be between Rs 25 to Rs 37 crore. It will be interesting to see whether the film breaks Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s collection of Rs 14.11 crore. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna in the lead roles.
